Congratulations on another successful Spring term, and congratulations to all our graduates!

Old Business

  • UUP Cortland looks to confirm enrollment numbers for Fall 2026:
    1. FY accepts
    2. Total Undergrad
    3. Total Grad
  • UUP Cortland requests an up-to-date copy of the University Budget.

New Business

  • Reductions in PT/FT contingent academics, increased class sizes, and faculty workload concerns
    1. UUP has been informed that academic departments are being asked to identify all persons on PT term appointments.
    2. UUP Cortland requests to discuss options to support contingent members. What shared game plan can UUP and Management come up with to:
      1. support contingents as they are informed of the status of their term renewal/non-renewal
      2. seek to maintain their health insurance, reaching out to nearby campuses to assist our adjuncts in finding classes to teach (need at least 6 credits worth of courses at SUNY) and/or
  • any unemployment benefits available to folks given nonrenewal.
  1. What other cost saving measures have been explored for the temp service budget?
  • Childcare disruptions
    1. UUP Cortland requests management implement more liberal telecommuting to support members working through recent unexpected disruptions to their childcare.
      1. UUP Cortland requests information regarding policy for bringing children to an employee’s workspace.
  • Provost: Update on the pay for faculty grading graduate student culminating exams when out of obligation (i.e., in summer).
  • Provost: Updates for 2026-2027 regarding office hours expectations and faculty presence on campus.

Upcoming Business

  • Option to avoid the $100,000 fee for H-1B sponsorship.
  • SoE box agreement Spring 2026

  1. Update regarding status of CTE Process and “box agreement” MOA
  1. As a reminder, UUP will be inquiring about performance program and evaluation compliance in September, in accordance with our previous LM discussions.

New Business

  1. Accessibility of all course materials on Bright Space:
    1. UUP understands the need to make course content accessible for all learning needs and abilities to comply with new guidelines for ADA enforcement. However, UUP has concerns about the workload increase for both academics and professionals to meet the deadline.
  1. Part Time Academic clarifications
    1. Timely notification of appointment letters during obligation
    2. Adherence to appointment letters
  1. Clarification of how to report a FOS concern: Academic facilities
    1. When calling customer service vs. submitting work orders
