Contract Negotiations Update

Dear Colleagues,

As you are aware, your UUP Negotiations Team Members are entering a critical phase in Contract Negotiations with New York State. UUP and the State remain far apart on several high-priority issues, notably compensation, job security, and telecommuting. Our task is clear if not necessarily easy: we must move the State to address UUP’s priority proposals on these issues.

To assist the Negotiations Team for these upcoming negotiations, your UUP Buffalo Center Chapter has scheduled yet another opportunity to let your voice be heard!

Tuesday, April 11th
Student Union Room 145A
7:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.
Coffee and donuts provided

This will be an In-Person, Members Only, Open Forum Event, where Members will be able to stop by anytime during these hours, stay as little or as long as you like; and meet and speak with Members of the UUP Statewide and Chapter Leadership Team to express your support and concerns while also learning about specific opportunities for potential Action Plans.

There will be brief comments and any updates from UUP President Fred Kowal, Chief Contract Negotiator Bret Benjamin, and myself scheduled to begin at 8:00 a.m. and lasting no more than 30 minutes.

While some of you have been active in providing your input to these negotiations, others have not. 48% of the UUP Buffalo Center Chapter Membership voted on the last contract ratification. Ultimately, though, to be successful we will need a vocal, united membership insisting on the importance of UUP’s proposals.

This is Your Contract! Let Your Voice Be Heard!
