HR has set a deadline of September 25, 2025 for submitting Discretionary Salary Increase (DSI) self-nominations. This timeline is intended to ensure supervisors have adequate time to review and consider submissions. The process applies to all Buffalo Center Chapter members—both professionals and faculty.
Chris Putrino, Director of Employee Relations, has advised that DSI decisions remain entirely at the discretion of University leadership, and no formal criteria have been provided for either self-nominations or supervisory recommendations.
Importantly, the University is not officially sponsoring a self-nomination process. Employees are neither encouraged nor discouraged from submitting one, and all employees—regardless of whether they self-nominate—will be considered for DSI. The University has not issued guidance on format or content, leaving it up to each individual to decide whether to submit and how to frame their case.
If you choose to submit a self-nomination, please focus on the specific contributions or achievements you believe merit consideration for DSI.
All self-nominations must be submitted to your supervisor by close of business on September 25, 2025.
