Colleagues,
I have a callout for some short-term assistance to prepare for Equity Week (the last week of October). This ad-hoc committee will meet 4 times (twice in September, and twice in October) before Equity Week to brainstorm events to show appreciation and support for contingent employees (members who are not on permanent lines). This includes Clinical Faculty, adjunct faculty, and some professionals. Their contributions are essential to the work we do, and Equity Week is our chance to recognize their contributions to our union and our University.
We would like the ad-hoc committee to plan 2 or more events the last week in October, reserve rooms, and complete a budget request to be made to the Board no later then October 15th to make necessary purchases such as speakers/screening, rooms, and advertisements.
This is a manageable, short-term commitment, and a great way to get involved if you’re looking for a way to support our union’s work. Please email Grady Gambrel at gradiest1@gmail.com your interest.
