Upcoming Sessions on Academic Freedom

UUP Statewide Vice President for Academics, Alissa Karl will be hosting virtual sessions on Academic Freedom on October 16 and 30.  The registration link is below.

The work of higher education is under threat like never before. Join your union to discuss recent attacks on academic freedom at colleges and universities in the U.S. and to review the specific contractual protections that cover UUP employees who teach and engage in research. While there will be some repeat content from this past winter’s Academic Freedom sessions, members are encouraged to attend again (or for the first time!) to discuss recent developments. All UUP members are welcome; the session will cover many items that pertain most immediately to academic members, but insofar as the defense of academic freedom is about protecting the integrity of Higher Ed institutions as a whole, professionals are welcome to attend.

Virtual sessions will be held on:

October 16th, 10-11.30 am

and

October 30, 12-1.30 pm
