In-Service Training on Linking to Community Sexual Assault Response

Please see the following from Anna Sotelo-Peryea, Associate Director of Health Promotion – Violence Prevention Coordinator:

You are invited to join us for this In-Service Training on Linking to Community Sexual Assault Response.  Most sexual assaults go unreported, decreasing the likelihood that survivors will be linked to the services and supports to heal.  Many will however talk to trusted faculty, staff, and friends – you could be the link.

Join us for this important training to understand the Sexual Assault Response provided for our students and colleagues in the community, at the hospital and after.  Presented by Holly Franz, RN, Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner and SAFE Program Coordinator, and featuring our new Campus-Based Advocate from Crisis Services.

When: Wednesday, February 28 at noon
Where: 210 Student Union, North Campus

Training Goals:

Basic understanding of sexual assault
Overview of sexual assault response system
Understand hospital response and Sexual Assault Forensic Exam
Understand available advocacy and support services.

Email Anna Sotelo-Peryea at acperyea@buffalo.edu to register for the training.  Seating is limited, refreshment will be provided.  This In-Service Training is sponsored by the UB Violence Prevention Team.

Best,
Anna
