UUP Starts With “U”

Dear Colleagues,

In follow up to the General Membership Meeting of last month, the UUP Buffalo Center Chapter is currently looking for Members to become more involved with the Chapter.  There are both immediate and long-range plans for continuing and improving the work of the UUP Buffalo Center Chapter, focusing on ensuring the terms and conditions of employment for Members are being followed and improved.

Now is the time to consider stepping up to become a more active member of the UUP Buffalo Center by signing up and participating with one of our various Standing and Ad Hoc Committees. These currently include:

Standing Committees

Affirmative Action -Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion 
Outreach – Political Action/Outreach/VOTE Cope
Membership Committee
Contingent Concerns Committee
Safety and Health Committee
Women’s Rights and Concerns Committee
Opportunity Programs Committee

Ad Hoc Committees

Communications Committee
Racial Equality and Social Justice Committee
Solidarity Action Group
Veterans Committee
By Laws Review Committee

In addition, the Chapter has immediate needs for Department Reps, an Officer for Contingents, and a Grievance Officer for Professionals.

Please contact the Chapter at buffalocenter@uupmail.org to add you name to one of these Committees/Positions or to learn more about them.

As a reminder, Chapter Elections are scheduled to be held in the Spring 0f 2023 for all Officer, Board Members, and Delegate Positions. Members interested in learning more about any of these opportunities are also encouraged to contact the Chapter office to learn more about these positions. Look for further information on the Chapter Elections in the Spring 2023 semester.
