Dear Colleagues,
Last week, in the early morning hours of July 4th, one of our fellow members, Janessa Givens-Daniels (Senior Associate Director of Financial Aid ; suffered an awful and horrendous loss. A horrific fire not only destroyed her home, but also took the lives of her husband, Dr. Jonathan Daniels, who was a well-known pediatrician and Associate Director of Admissions for the Jacobs School of Medicine; as well as two of her adult children (Jensen and Jordan). Her third daughter, Jillian was not home at the time. This family has had a significant impact not only within UB, but also within the Buffalo community.
