Update – Chapter Elections

Dear Colleagues,

Over the last few days you should have received, mailed to your home, the nomination form for the upcoming UUP Buffalo Center Chapter elections. I would like to take this opportunity to encourage you to consider running for either an officer position and/or Chapter Board position for the upcoming 2 year term.

In order to continue with the work of the Chapter, and to expand its reach to the over 3100 members of the Buffalo Center, the Chapter is looking forward to establishing a fully represented and active Chapter Board. In particular the Chapter is looking to increase faculty representation. There is no limit to the number of active members the Chapter may have, and the self-nomination process makes it easy to include your name for consideration. All Academic and Professional members are again encouraged to consider becoming a Chapter Board Member.

For those of you considering becoming a UUP Buffalo Center Chapter Board Member, be sure to nominate yourself as a candidate under the Buffalo Center Chapter “Delegate” category. Once the election ballots are generated, you will need to get at least 10 votes to become a member of the Chapter Board.

Over the past year, I have been excited about the increased number of members who have “stepped up” and have become active within the Buffalo Center Chapter. Whether as a Department Rep or Committee member, your voices are being heard, as the Chapter continues to work to ensure the working terms and conditions of our members at the University at Buffalo. I am looking forward to an even larger increase in member participation into the operations of the Buffalo Center Chapter.

“Together We Fight, Together We Win!”

If there are any questions, please contact myself or the Buffalo Center UUP office.

In Solidarity,
