Free COVID Testing Options

Dear Colleagues,

Although UB is not requiring that all employees or students be tested for COVID, there are several free and convenient options available to you if you would like to be tested voluntarily.

The Erie County Department of Health offers two kinds of COVID-19 tests:

1. Diagnostic test (swab test) tells if you are currently infected.

2. Antibody test (blood test) tells if you have had a previous infection.

Diagnostic test sites are located within minutes of each of our three UB campuses.

Visit the Department of Health website for information on scheduling and test site locations. <https://www2.erie.gov/health/index.php?q=covid-19-testing-information>

If you are a blood donor, the Red Cross has been performing COVID-19 antibody testing on all donated blood since June 15. Schedule your donation by visiting <https://www.redcrossblood.org/give.html>. They will be at the Newman Center on Skinnersville Road, near the Amherst Campus, on September 3.

That you to Dominic Licata for gathering and providing this information for our members.

In Solidarity,

Ken Kern
