Join your UUP Contingents Officer to share workplace concerns and to learn more about how contingents can defend and educate themselves through the union.

So, how’s life at the college treating you? 

The union is the organ of worker democracy on campus, influenced by traditions of social movements, worker struggle, and collective action. We’re building out an apparatus to empower and entrench every contingent at the university—along with every last worker.

All of it begins with you sharing your concerns with us.

Join Kris Newhall, Vice President for Academics for UUP Cortland, for drop-in virtual office hours on Wednesday, October 1st from 2:00-3:30 PM.

This is an opportunity to discuss issues or concerns you may have as an academic faculty member at SUNY Cortland. Drop in anytime during the 90-minute window.

All UUP academic members are welcome, including full-time and part-time academic faculty of any rank, as well as retirees.

2. UUP is seeking information regarding SUNY stabilization planning for our distressed campus.

3. UUP raises concerns regarding a weekly standing meeting within the School of Education, which occupies the common hour time.

4. UUP has received inquiries concerning the shifting role of the Center for Teaching and Learning and how it may affect faculty autonomy and leadership in the area of pedagogy and faculty development.
