Dear Colleagues,
You are invited to participate in the UUP/NYSUT – 2024 Spring Buffalo Member Organizing Institute (MOI) where we will focus on the recruitment of non-members from the three (3) Buffalo chapters.
UUP has worked closely with NYSUT to develop an opportunity for UUP member organizers to receive tools and training to recruit new potential members on campus and at their homes.
This is a paid opportunity with limited spots available and is a great chance to put your ORGANIZING skills to practice, while having the support of a team!
Here’s what you can expect and what we’re offering to ensure a successful campaign:
Member Organizers selected to participate will receive an hourly rate of $25 and must complete at least 6 shifts (4 hours each) over the duration of the program.
Paid travel (mileage reimbursement).
Professional organizers are available to support and partner with member organizers.
Door-knocking material & turf cut with local targeted areas.
And as a bonus incentive, $25 gift cards for the first 10 people who register by April 5th, get selected to participate, and complete the program.
Key dates and details:
Training will take place at the WNY NYSUT Regional Office: 270 Essjay Rd, Williamsville, NY 14221.
Day 1 Training: FRIDAY, APRIL 19th – 3:00pm – 7:00pm (Dinner will be provided).
Day 2 Training: SATURDAY, APRIL 20th – 9:00am – 1:00pm (Breakfast & lunch will be provided). TRAINING FOR HOUSE VISITS ONLY Training will include practice house visits with professional Organizers.
