The winter months can be very difficult for our members of our community as they deal with rising costs of food, heating, and other family expenses. We would like to call your attention to a few programs that UB is sponsoring that you and/or your department can get involved with.
UB Adopt-A-Family Program – departments can sign up to sponsor a family in need for the holidays. Community Relations will match the department with a family, nominated by one of our partner organizations, and provide a holiday wish list to guide present procurement. We’ve asked departments to sign up by 11/2, but do have wiggle room to accommodate late signups. Pease email communityrelations@buffalo.edu
UB Diaper Drive – from now until 11/23, we will be collecting diapers and other newborn essentials at donation bins around campus. As we did for Horns up for Hope, the promotional flyers feature a QR code that will take folks to a list of bin locations.
Winter Preparedness Workshops – this year, we are offering two winter preparedness workshops – one on South campus, one on North campus. We’ll review basic winter preparation, how to understand winter storm warnings, and how to prepare for more intense winter weather.
