Colleagues,
I’m reaching out to ask for your participation in the 2026 WNY Membership Organizing Drive (MOD), taking place August 19–22.
This initiative focuses on greeting non‑member colleagues in our chapter and inviting them to join UUP. It’s apaid opportunity to help strengthen our membership base and support our union’s long‑term organizing goals.
Teams of two organizers—including one experienced lead—will visit the homes of non‑members off of your UB obligation to have in‑person organizing conversations. Participants will be paid $25/hour, must complete at least one full door‑knocking shift, and will receive mileage reimbursement if driving.
Across the four days, we will meet before each shift to distribute materials and after each shift to debrief and turn in your packets. Location: To be determined.
Your participation directly supports our chapter’s growth and helps ensure we remain strong, visible, and member‑driven. I hope you’ll consider joining us for this important organizing effort.

Wednesday, August 19: Mandatory training 5:00pm – 7:00pm(Dinner will be provided)
House Visits Shifts (Home visits will be in the Buffalo area)
Thursday, August 20: Meet-up & pick-up materials 3:30pm – 4:00pm & House visits 4:00pm – 7:00pm.
Friday, August 21: Meet-up & pick-up materials 3:30pm – 4:00pm & House visits 4:00pm – 7:00pm.
Saturday, August 22: Meet-up & pick-up materials 10:30pm – 11:00am & House visits 11:00am – 4:00pm.
