Building A Trans* Support Network

Dear Colleagues,

The University at Buffalo supports a safe and welcoming community for everyone.  Some students, particularly our Trans* students, might have a hard time feeling welcomed and safe because it is difficult to know who their allies are and are not.  Trans* is defined as meaning transgender, non-binary, and gender queer students, who do not necessarily identify internally with the biological sex they were born as.  To that end, a committee through the Office of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, has been charged with creating a webpage where Trans* students, faculty and staff can find resources and allies on campus.

One part of this webpage will be a list of people across campus who will be welcoming to Trans* students should they need some help or advice regarding your office or department.  Hopefully one day this resource will be unnecessary but until that time, we would like as many offices and departments represented as possible.

If you would like to be listed on this webpage, please forward you name, title, department, office address, office phone number and email address to Mary Clare Fahey at mcfahey@buffalo.eduIf you are aware of any other Individuals on campus who might want to be added, please forward this information to them. You may also contact Mary Clare at 645-5620 for any questions.

In Solidarity,
