Tell Us What You Think About UB Telecommuting Policy Changes

Dear Colleagues,

Some of the proposed telecommuting policy changes at UB take effect September 14 and may be inconsistent with several key provisions in the UUP contract. Time is short. We want to hear from you.

Here is how we push back against restrictive telecommuting policy changes: UUP has designed a short survey to learn how these changes would actually affect members: https://tally.so/r/J9E42K

We’re using Tally, an independent, privacy-focused survey platform that ensures your responses remain strictly confidential while maintaining the integrity of our collective data.

UUP commits to using aggregated survey data to advocate for membership in the labor/management forum as negotiated in the contract, to protect what was bargained: individualized review, equity, and consideration of your preferred days.

Moreover, members who were told that “applications that reference childcare or elder care will not be approved” might be interested in exploring their options with the New York State Division of Human Rights. We are interested in hearing from members impacted by this potentially discriminatory policy.

Your experience is the evidence we need. Please take a few minutes to respond before Monday, September 21. What you share directly shapes how effectively we may push back on your behalf.

Please contact Kate Doran, Grievance Officer for Professionals, if you have questions – katedoran07@gmail.com.

In solidarity,

Kat
