Non-Renewal, Program Deactivation & Retrenchment

Negotiating Your Work and the Importance of Documentation (Kat teaches, you/Devon support)
This session equips UUP members with practical strategies to understand, document, and negotiate workload expectations across academic and professional roles. Participants learn how workload is defined for faculty and professional employees, what components are negotiable, and how to address unreasonable or inequitable assignments. Through clear frameworks, real‑world examples, and union‑supported processes, members gain the confidence to advocate for sustainable teaching loads, manageable caseloads, fair duty assignments, and appropriate recognition of expanded responsibilities. The course emphasizes documentation, communication, and escalation pathways to ensure workload aligns with job title, professional obligation, and campus norms.
Session 1: October 29, Noon – 1:30 pm
Session 2: December 3, Noon – 1:30 pm
