Dear Colleagues,
Your UUP Buffalo Center Chapter is participating in a Statewide effort to call upon the SUNY Board of Trustees to properly allocate operating funds to resolve campus deficits.
The 2023-2024 New York State budget provided an additional $163 million in operating funds for SUNY – a solid increase that would have alleviated our campus deficits. However, the Board of Trustees chose to allocate the lion’s share of these funds to campuses that do not carry deficits.
With the 2024-25 state budget settled, UUP is again calling on the Trustees to allocate operating funds to resolve campus deficits.
As such, we are asking all UUP Members, as well as your family and friends to sign a card is support of the proper allocation of these funds.
Cards are available in the UUP Buffalo Center Chapter Office (UB Commons, Suite 108). You may pick them up there to collect signatures, and return the signed cards to the same location by Thursday, May 23rd.
All cards collected will then be forwarded to UUP Central to be added to those collected from the other SUNY campuses and delivered to the SUNY Board of Trustees in early June.
Thank You For Your Support!
In Solidarity,
Ken Kern
Chapter President
