UUP is excited to share an opportunity for you to be involved, share your voice, and be part of the movement to support our aggressive legislative agenda. One of the most important and substantive ways to do this is through legislative advocacy. With the ongoing budget negotiations being held in Albany, UUP must deliver our message to state legislators. On February 11th and 12th UUP will hold our UUP Higher Ed Lobby Days. Below is a link to sign up for either one, or both, of these days to have a virtual meeting with Assemblymembers and Senators. Register here.
The need for funding from both the federal government and state government has never been more critical. We are undertaking multiple actions and using every tool at our disposal to fight for each UUP member, our university and our future. We are pushing Congress to pass the Federal Stimulus Plan that should deliver $15 billion to New York’s budget, $45 billion to higher education across the United States and deliver funds for our healthcare system. At the state level we are advocating for fair funding for SUNY, essential mission funding for our SUNY public hospitals, improved access to public healthcare and higher education, and a sustainable path forward for the state. The timing is crucial and we must be heard!
