Yesterday, Human Resources sent out information regarding UB’s deployment of a mandatory daily health screening tool – The Daily Health Check. A health check reminder notice was also sent out to all employees later that afternoon.
In addition to the requirement of completing this “…every day, including weekends and holidays, whether or not they plan to visit campus.”, there are other various requirements expected of our members which are in question.
UUP is in consultation about the appropriateness of this VERY sweeping obligations toward ALL employees it represents, including the requirement to complete it on non-work days.
Faculty who are not yet on obligation cannot be required to complete a daily health check, nor perform any other work while off obligation. According to the Provost’s most recent memo, Faculty obligation does not start until August 24, 2020.
