Please see the following from UUP Chief Negotiator Bret Benjamin:
Dear Colleagues,
I’m writing to update you on the progress of UUP’s current contract negotiations with New York State.
Most notably, UUP has received conceptual proposals from New York State. The State’s proposals, which sketch out their priorities for this round of bargaining, have been posted in full to our Members’ Only Negotiations webpage, along with a new Negotiations Bulletin that provides an overview of the State’s initial demands.
Additionally, you’ll find posted on the same Negotiations webpage a video presentation about UUP’s conceptual proposals from one our June townhall meetings. There is also a video from our panel about chapter level organizing gains for contingent faculty.
As our contract negotiations progress in the weeks and months ahead, we’ll continue to update you with more Negotiations Bulletins and related materials. In the meantime, if you have any suggestions, concerns, or questions, you can reach our negotiations team by email at contract@uupmail.org.
Please feel free to circulate this information to your members and co-workers and encourage them to visit the Members’ Only Negotiations webpage.
UUP Members may access the State’s conceptual proposals and the bulletin at UUP | United University Professions (uupinfo.org) by clicking on “Members Only” on the Member drop down bar and following the directions for logging in. Members will need their UUP membership ID number, which can be found in the lower left-hand corner of their UUP membership card. Members will also need their UUP chapter code, which is listed on pay statements and in electronic payroll records as either their “department code”, “campus code”, or “agency code”.
In solidarity,
Bret Benjamin
UUP Chief Negotiator
