Statement Supporting a Community of Mutual Respect

Dear Colleagues,

Your UUP Buffalo Center Chapter stands in support of President Satish K. Tripathi’s recent message regarding a Community of Mutual Respect. UUP continues to stand opposed to any form of disrespect, harassment, intolerance, bigotry, and oppression and further encourage our members to stand up to this abhorrent behavior and promoting a collegial, supportive environment where all can thrive academically and personally.

Should you see such behavior, please notify the University Police immediately by calling 716-645-2222 or by emailing ub-police@buffalo.edu.  

Victims of such behavior can seek help by contacting one or several of the resources below:

UB is one of the leaders within SUNY to develop and enforce preventative measures against workplace violence and bullying.   Should you experience the behaviors listed on this webpage in your unit, please report it and put a stop to it.

Your membership dues for UUP also make you a member of the American Federation of Teachers (AFT).  AFT offers its members free trauma counseling sessions with highly trained therapists that are completely private and are available 24/7.
