Dear Colleagues,
The Health Sciences Team at Abbott Library is excited to announce the All of Us Journey at UB event, taking place on April 30th to May 3rd, 10 am to 4 pm daily, right beside the Abbott Library on the South Campus. This event also supports our ongoing participation in the All of Us Data Training and Engagement for Academic Libraries Program.
The All of Us Journey and the Academic Libraries Program are both initiatives associated with the All of Us Research Program, which aims to advance precision medicine research through providing access to a wealth of health and demographic data from diverse populations. While the All of Us Journey focuses on community engagement and awareness, the Academic Libraries Program empowers librarians to enhance their data-related skills and research capacity in support of the All of Us Research Program.
During the Journey visit, we will have information tables from UB departments and community-based organizations, giveaways including food vouchers for the UB food truck and Harriman’s Cafe. Plus, we are holding our student Stress Relief Days on 4/30 and 5/1, 10 am to 2 pm featuring snacks, games, crafts, and therapy dogs. And don’t miss the chance for a photo with Victor E. Bull on April 30th, 12 pm – 1:15 pm. We invite everyone—community members, students, staff, and faculty!
Also, during the event, three All of Us Researcher Ambassadors will present virtually their research using the All of Us datasets. In addition, our Data Services Librarian, Jocelyn A Swick-Jemison will hold introductory sessions on navigating data browser, including a fun data scavenger hunt. For details, visit the All of Us at UB LibGuide, and view the attachments on this message.
Thank you.
In Solidarity,
Ken Kern
