UUP Dependent Scholarship Program

A new UUP Benefit Trust Fund Scholarship Program is now available for undergraduate students starting with the Fall 2018 semester and running through the Spring 2022 semester.  Scholarships of $500 per semester are available for eligible dependents of active, UUP-represented SUNY employees.

Panel talks county education challenges

observer photoFrom attendance issues to staffing shortages, panelists at the Nov. 9, 2018 UUP Fredonia Chapter forum discussed the challenges that Chautauqua County educators are facing.  The eight panelists who met at SUNY Fredonia explored these issues and also discussed ways in which they are currently being addressed or could be addressed in the future.  The Observer article is available here.

Panel at college considers regional job dilemma

Ziya Arnavut, Ph.D., president of the United University Professions Fredonia chapter hosted a panel discussion on jobs and training at SUNY Fredonia on November 9th. “I hope this panel can give us some possible solutions that we can work with to do something good for our population, because we want education to grow, jobs to grow and this region to, economically, thrive as opposed to dying down every day.”     You can read the Observer article here.

UUP Dependent Care Advantage Account New Employer Contribution

NEW EMPLOYER CONTRIBUTION

The new 2016-2022 Agreement between UUP and New York State includes an employer contribution to Dependent Care Advantage Accounts (DCAAccount) for UUP-represented employees who are enrolled as DCAAccount participants for the 2018 plan year.  Read more…DCAA 2018

UUP Productivity Enhancement Program (PEP)

PEP is a negotiated benefit in the 2016-2022 Agreement between UUP and NYS.  PEP allows eligible UUP-represented employees to exchange previously accrued annual leave (vacation) in return for cash credit to be applied toward the employee share of NYSHIP premiums on a biweekly basis.  Read more…PEP Fast Facts

Derrik Decker is the winner of the 2017 UUP Fayez Samuel Part-Time Member Award for Courageous Service.  Derrik received his award on Friday, October 13, 2017, at the Fall Delegate Assembly at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Buffalo.  Congratulations Derrik!
