This meeting will serve as
- a) an introduction to the basic mechanisms the union provides for addressing professional conflicts and
- b) an open discussion of our concerns right now as contingents at SUNY Cortland. Bring your questions and experiences.
Our union is the only campus entity that advocates for contingents as employees, provides political and social forums for their development as workplace unionists, and advances their interests at the bargaining table when contracts are negotiated.
UUP is the closest thing to a professional association for contingents at the university, and it is the privileged vehicle for addressing and resolving contingent workplace concerns.
