UUP’s national affiliate, AFT, has endorsed two programs that help union members stay on top of their credit.

Credit Score

UUP bargaining unit members can take advantage of savings on any myFICO® product, including credit scores, credit reports, ID fraud protection and personalized score explanation.

A member’s FICO score is a snapshot of credit risk, which is used by banks and other lenders when reviewing loan, mortgage and other credit applications.

With the AFT plan, members:

• save 15 percent on all myFICO® products;

• understand how lenders determine interest rates and credit limits offered; and

• use the FICO savings calculator to see how much they can save on monthly loan payments by improving FICO score.

Credit Counseling

Members with financial problems can sign up for this program and receive:

• a free credit counseling session with budget analysis and advice;

• a written action plan, with budget and timeline for reaching goals; and

• free financial planning tools.

Members who elect a debt-management plan will get a 33 percent union discount on the plan set-up fee.
