Many policy discounts are available. For example, auto policies may include discounts for multiple cars, multiple policies, superior drivers and many others. Home policies may offer discounts for new homes and security systems, as well as automatic replacement cost coverage.

Members may receive discounts on auto premiums, depending on state of residence, by using payroll or pension deduction.

Most auto and home policies automatically provide an identity theft resolution service at no additional charge. Members who are victims of identity theft can turn to a personal identity-theft representative who will help them contact creditors, notify police, file affidavits and more.

Convenient payment options include payroll and pension deduction for eligible members, ExpressIt® monthly deduction from a checking account, direct bill, and mortgagee billing for home/condo insurance. Deduction payment options avoid a $6 service fee charged per billing cycle.

Members can request free, no-obligation quotes on home insurance policies by calling Met’s toll-free number dedicated to NYSUT members, (866) 697-8822.

Members can also use the toll-free number to apply for coverage, to receive customer service, and to report claims 24 hours a day.
