UUP has signed on as a yearlong participating sponsor of New York Now, a new weekly public affairs program that airs on nine PBS TV stations statewide.
UUP’s sponsorship of the 30-minute program began with its premiere May 11.
UUP President William Scheuerman appears in a recorded message at the beginning and end of each program, promoting UUP as “the union that makes SUNY work.†New York Now is seen by about 150,000 viewers each week, according to the program’s producer.
New York Now focuses on state politics, featuring an in-depth report on a current issue, as well as interviews with prominent newsmakers and a discussion among several Albany-based journalists covering the state Capitol.
The program airs on the following days and times:
• Friday — WMHT/Albany, 7:30 p.m.
• Saturday — WNET/New York City, 1 p.m.; WSKG/Binghamton, 4:30 p.m.; WNPE/Water- town, 4:30 p.m.; WNED/Buffalo, 5:30 p.m.; and WCNY/Syracuse, 6 p.m.
• Sunday —WCFE/Plattsburgh, 9:30 a.m.; WLIW/Long Island, 7 a.m.; WXXI/Rochester, 6:30 p.m.; and WMHT/Albany, 11 p.m.
