UUP provides benefits to all bargaining unit members, including a range of programs sponsored by UUP affiliates, New York State United Teachers and the American Federation of Teachers.

Most health benefits are administered through the SUNY Geneseo Human Resources Office. Dental and vision benefits are administered through UUP. UUP’s benefits pages have most of the information you need, or you can call UUP at 1-800-342-4206 and ask to speak with someone in member benefits.
Important Information for Retirees
In order for employees to become retired UUP members and access the benefits associated with membership, they must maintain continuous membership for 5 years immediately prior to retirement, continuous membership from initial employment in the bargaining unit to retirement, or continuous membership beginning no later than November 25, 2019, to retirement, whichever option is less.
Employee Assistance Program
The NYS Employee Assistance Program is a peer assistance program jointly sponsored by labor and management. NYS EAP provides confidential information, assessment, and referral services to NYS employees, their family members, and retirees. It also provides orientations and training for all employees, managers, supervisors, and union representatives on benefits and use of EAP.
