The UUP Benefit Trust Fund (BTF) extends warm “welcome back” wishes to all our new and returning UUP members and their families.

It’s that time of year again to give you a little refresher on your benefits. Right here at UUP headquarters, the BTF administers your dental, vision, scholarship and life insurance benefits.

• The Dental Plan Program (through Delta Dental) covers preventive and diagnostic services at 100 percent of the dental network allowance, with a total annual maximum benefit of $2,500 per eligible member and/or dependent. Orthodontic services are available for both children and adults.
• The Vision Care Program (through Davis Vision) offers a comprehensive eye exam and one pair of glasses (or the benefit may be applied to contact lenses) once every 12 months for eligible UUP members and dependents.
• The UUP Benefit Trust Fund Scholarship Program offers eligible dependent children of UUP members $750 per semester attending a state-operated SUNY schools (specific criteria apply), up to a maximum of eight semesters.
• Group Life Insurance Coverage (through UNUM Provident) is provided for all active UUP members in the Professional Services Negotiating Unit. The maximum benefit is $6,000 for active members and $1,000 for retired members who maintain their membership in UUP.

The BTF offers dental and vision benefits to retiree and noneligible part-time members.

UUP also has a Member Services Trust Fund, which offers members discounted rates through Apple, AT&T, Bally Total Fitness, BJ’s Wholesale Club, Crystal Rock Bottled Water (featuring Green Mountain Coffee products), Enterprise, Goodyear, Liberty Mutual, Mirabito, NJ Nets, Office Max, Sprint and Verizon Wireless.

BTF representatives also assist members who may have issues with health claims (Empire Plan) or with any of our programs. They are here to advocate for you to make sure you are getting proper information and the service you deserve.
