Reilly intern on board

Jaclyn Agostino, a graduate student at SUNY Albany’s Nelson A. Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy, came on board in August as the union’s 2007-08 John M. Reilly legislative intern.

Agostino is working 20 hours a week for 32 weeks during the academic year. Her duties include tracking legislation and arranging visits to lawmaker’s offices.

Agostino is pursuing a master’s degree in public administration, with a concentration in urban policy. She earned her undergraduate degree in political science from Northeastern University in Boston, where she participated in the Hansard Society Scholars Program at the London School of Economics.

Prior to her internship at UUP, Agostino served as a research assistant for Bill Olner, a member of the Parliament of the United Kingdom’s House of Commons, and did two stints as a research intern at the Center for Urban and Regional Policy at Northeastern University.

The legislative internship is named to honor the late John Reilly, who served as UUP president from 1987-93.
