Across the country, we\u2019re speaking out for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Strong protections for academic freedom and freedom of expression<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Affordable and well-funded higher education<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Safe and welcoming campuses for all students<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fair wages and secure employment for higher ed workers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to gatherings at some of our chapters, UUP will be hosting a statewide virtual session on&nbsp;<strong>Protecting Academic Freedom in Turbulent Times.&nbsp;<\/strong>We invite all UUP members to join us to address how Academic Freedom is essential to the integrity of our institutions and to the work of everyone in UUP (not just academic employees); to learn about UUP\u2019s contractual protections for Academic Freedom and recent legal developments in this area; and to and to discuss how union members can defend this critical right.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The session will be held from\u00a0<strong>12-1.30pm on Friday, November 7.<\/strong>\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/aft.zoom.us\/meeting\/register\/kWs1Nvq8Qk2f5Bl8inUTxA\">CLICK HERE<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0to register:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button has-custom-width wp-block-button__width-100\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\">Register Here \u00bb<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>In solidarity,<br>Fred &amp; Alissa<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Frederick E.
