Your union sisters and brothers whose lives have been upended by Hurricane Harvey need your help, and they need it now.

NYSUT and the AFT have set up disaster relief funds to help working families affected by Harvey in Texas and neighboring states.

Please donate to either fund to help the victims of Hurricane Harvey, which has paralyzed southeastern Texas with catastrophic flooding and destruction on a massive scale. So far, the storm has claimed at least eight lives, and has left upwards of 30,000 people homeless and in need of shelter, food, clothing and medical care.

Dear Chapter Leaders,

Federal guidance published earlier this year addresses the issue of eligibility for unemployment insurance benefits between college terms. The fact sheet at the link below provides information that may be helpful to members who are trying to determine whether they may be eligible for UI benefits.
