UUP set to kick off contract negotiations with Feb. 3 virtual town hall<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Contract negotiations will begin Feb. 4 after months of UUP pushing the state to come to the table.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To kick things off, UUP\u2019s Negotiations Team invites all UUP members to join a virtual town hall\u2014at noon on Tuesday, Feb. 3\u2014to show support for the Team as it begins the process of bringing home a fair contract that benefits all UUP members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting is open to UUP members. Only UUP members can vote to ratify the contract. Click HERE<\/a> to become a UUP member.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe want an on-time contract for the first time in recent memory,\u201d UUP President Fred Kowal and UUP Chief Negotiator Bret Benjamin wrote in an email to members. \u201cNo delayed raises. No interrupted programs. No uncertainty. We want an on-time contract that meets the needs of our members.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

UUP\u2019s current contract expires July 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Feb. 4, members are asked to wear red clothing\u2014it\u2019s even better if it\u2019s UUP-branded clothing\u2014to work to show their support for contract negotiations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Members are also asked to take photos of themselves and their colleagues wearing red and post them to social media using the hashtag #UUPContract. Please tag your posts with @uupinfo before posting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Members can also request a UUP \u201cReady to Bargain\u201d sign for their office doors or windows to show support. Click HERE<\/a> to request the sign or email the chapter at buffalocenter@uupmail.org<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n
