Dear Colleagues,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bargaining and enforcing our contract is arguably the most important thing that UUP does as a union.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our contract reflects the fact that UUP is the most diverse and comprehensive higher education union in the country. In addition to ensuring salary increases, it establishes rights and protections for workers, including due process, job security, health benefits, and much more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are also provisions designed to address the needs of professionals, academics, health care workers, contingent faculty, and the full range of higher education workers in our union.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is crucial to prioritize member education and engagement, especially as UUP prepares to begin contract negotiations with New York state. To that end, we are pleased to offer a series of statewide \u201cKnow Your Contract\u201d lunch-and-learn sessions. These virtual forums will start Nov. 12 and run through January 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two sessions will be offered for each workshop, which will be led by our excellent staff of Labor Relations Specialists. Each workshop will cover a key aspect of the contract (see schedule below).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

UUP members and non-members are welcome to attend the workshops and are invited and encouraged to sign up for as many sessions as they would like to participate in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
