Colleagues,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Though it took a bit longer than planned, attached please find the detailed analysis of the Governor\u2019s proposed budget. We covered all areas that have the slightest impact on SUNY. However, the key points to remember are as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. The budget does increase SUNY\u2019s budget in many areas, but it\u2019s not nearly enough.
    <\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. We are advocating for a financially distressed campus fund that will eliminate the deficits faced by 19 campuses, with a total request for this of $160 million.
    <\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. We are advocating for mission funding for the SUNY hospitals, as they are shut out in the proposed budget, with the ask paralleling SUNY\u2019s: $175 million.
    <\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. We are advocating for $110 million to support campus transformation, by which we mean expanding programs to attract and retain students \u2013 to support the work we do!<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    We continue to work with legislators and their staffs, along with the Governor\u2019s staff, to get the best budget we can get. Feel free to write if you have any questions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
