Dear Colleagues:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am pleased to inform you that we have begun posting information about our preparations for negotiations in the Members Only section of the UUP website.  As of this morning there are now three items posted and available for viewing by UUP members. These are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Our first Negotiations Bulletin which includes an overview of our process for preparing for negotiations and the member feedback we have received.
     <\/li>
  2. A video of the Power Point presentation that Bret Benjamin, UUP Chief Negotiator gave during the regional and campus townhall meetings titled:  Negotiations Intro by UUP Chief Negotiator Bret Benjamin<\/em>
     <\/li>
  3. A video of the Power Point presentation that Bret Benjamin gave during the Negotiations Committee and Ad Hoc Committee meeting titled:  Negotiations Member Feedback and Bargaining Priorities by UUP Chief Negotiator Bret Benjamin<\/em><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    The bulletin gives members an overview of where we are in the process of preparing for negotiations and what issues stood out as most important based upon the survey results and townhall input we received.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The videos, particularly the second one on member feedback and bargaining priorities, are intended for members who want more detailed information than is provide in the Negotiations Bulletin.  In addition, the UUP Bargaining Team thought it also might be used at chapter executive committee or general membership meetings to give members a more substantive analysis of member feedback and account of our preparations for negotiations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    To view it, go to UUP | United University Professions (uupinfo.org)<\/a>. Click on \u201cMembers Only\u201d on the Member drop down bar and follow the directions in the \u2018Members Only portal\u201d for logging in. To log in members will need their UUP membership ID number <\/em><\/strong>which can be found in the lower left-hand corner of their UUP membership card.  Members will also need their UUP chapter code <\/em><\/strong>which is listed on pay statements and in electronic payroll records as either their \u201cdepartment code\u201d, \u201ccampus code\u201d, or \u201cagency code\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    We are excited about our preparations for this round of negotiations and about our efforts to better engage UUP members in our negotiations process.  Providing the membership with as much information as is reasonably possible is a critical component of that engagement. Keep in mind that the information is posted to the members only section of the website to ensure that we are communicating with our membership and not with SUNY management, the state, or members of the public. More public communication will come, as necessary, in a strategically planned manner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
