VOTE/COPE is NYSUT’s nonpartisan political action fund fueled solely by voluntary contributions from members of the statewide union’s locals, such as UUP. It supports pro-education candidates, lobbying and advertising efforts. VOTE-COPE, the political action fund for UUP and NYSUT, gives us a voice so we can advocate for issues and legislation that are crucial to us. VOTE-COPE has been crucial in our success in recent elections, fighting privitization of the SUNY Hospital and passing ORP. VOTE-COPE enables us to advocate for more state aid for public higher education, pension equity, and public employee rights to name a few key issues.
