When employees change jobs, where they are going will determine how much notification they need to provide to their supervisor.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 If an employees leaves their current position and accepts a position in another unit within the University, it is considered a transfer<\/strong>.\u00a0 In this situation, employees do not need to provide a specified amount of notification that they are changing positions.\u00a0\u00a0 It is, however, customary to provide at least a two (2) week notice.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 For employees who intend to leave the employ of the shall give 30 days\u2019\u00a0notice to the chief administrative officers or the chief administrative officer\u2019s representative.\u00a0 In the event that an employee fails to provide the full 30 days\u2019 notice, it shall be within the discretion of the chief administrative officer or the chief administrative officer\u2019s representative to withhold from such employee\u2019s final check an amount equal to the employee\u2019s daily rate of pay for each day less than the required 30 days.\u00a0 Such action shall not constitute discipline (SUNY Board of Trustees Policy, Title D, 5f (https:\/\/www.suny.edu\/media\/suny\/content-assets\/documents\/boardoftrustees\/SUNY_BOT_Policies.pdf<\/a>).\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 If you have questions, contact the UUP Office at buffalocenter@uupmail.org<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n
